The purpose of an article is to provide an introduction to and overview of established knowledge on a topic, as well as to provide resources for further research. These resources may include primary and secondary materials. Articles in the Encyclopedia of Wisconsin Environmental History adhere to a neutral point of view. Additionally, all claims of fact, beyond basic, common knowledge, should be accompanied by a citation (see Citations). For guidelines on article formatting, see the Article Template.
